Si bien es cierto en esta nota Carol Wilson (la autora) se enfoca en la coyuntura de USA, creo que muchos de sus enunciados pueden muy bien aplicarse a la realidad de otras naciones. Aqui mis adaptaciones:
- It is important to ANY economy the ability to have true broadband access everywhere, and to make it affordable to consumers and businesses alike.
- As manufacturing jobs are not always around, what is complementing them? In ANY service economy digital communications enables service jobs to be offered and contracted from ANYwhere, as many in the customer service and software development industries know all too well.
- One way to ensure that ANY workforce remain employable is to give that workforce the best possible tools in the digital age, and that starts with broadband.
- Many of the jobs that are outsourced to call centers in India could just as easily have been sent to rural communities ANYwhere, where towns and villages are struggling to hold onto their youth as they see job opportunities disappear.
- Technology options for broadband in rural areas are growing. There are new wireless options that promise greater coverage at lower cost.
