Oh My Pizza!

When you don't have time to cook, or you are just lazy, and want to eat something fast without being fast food - also without going to your favorite Mexican place either - then the best option is to have pizza. But here I'm not talking about any pizza chain that tastes like cardboard, I'm talking about real pizza, pretty much home-made-old-style-full-of-flavor kind of pizza like the one made in Italy, or at least in the little Italy in your closest city. If that is the case, and you live or are around the North Bay area, then you have to try Mombo's Pizza in Santa Rosa or Sebastopol. It is inexpensive and yummy, what else do you need to know? :)

Did I mention Mombo's have reusable pizza boxes?

Now, if you want the whole experience of being served sitting in a very nice restaurant with a huge list of wines to choose from, then you have to try Rosso Pizzeria & Wine Bar in Santa Rosa (soon there will be one in Petaluma). We were there last Saturday, it was kind of last minute decision. So, since we didn't make reservations we had to wait almost an hour to get a table for 5. If that doesn't tell you how good they are then you need to continue reading this post.

Did I mention Rosso has a Tuscan wood-burning oven?

The food was gooood! The Tuscan Wedge salad is delicious but certainly not enough to be shared by two people as suggested by the waiter - make yourself a favor and ask for your own -, and the pizzas were crispy and tasty, just the way I like it. Not surprisingly, after sharing the pizzas we were still hungry so we asked for the Fritto Misto. It was almost heaven in my mouth. This time we didn't have any wine but certainly we will try some next time. Finally, keep in mind that it can be pricey, it is not your regular pizza chain.

Pizzaly.
